WHAT'S NEARBY?
- Scalo Romana together with the Vigentino district is one of the city's emerging districts. As the mayor has repeatedly emphasised, the urbanistic future of Milan passes through here.
The area between Piazzale Lodi-Brenta and Piazza Trento (A2A area) is undergoing a profound transformation. The recently approved masterplan envisages the construction of a large park with woodland where the Olympic Village for the Milan-Cortina 2026 Winter Games will be located, in the Scalo Romana railway area, accessible from Piazzale Lodi.
- The Vigentino district is a middle-class residential and suburban area built starting in the 1970s and expanded in the following three decades, when the terminus of tram 24 was moved from Via Noto to its current location by the INPS buildings. It is crossed by the very long via Ripamonti, full of restaurants and shops.
- Morivione is an entirely new neighbourhood built in the last 15 years on the ruins of a large truck factory. It mainly houses Bocconi university pensioners and beautiful, recently built residential buildings mostly inhabited by professionals, including many Bocconi professors and their families. It is served by a huge hypermarket, in front of the new headquarters of the Provveditorato degli studi.
GETTING AROUND THE AREA:
To go to the centre, take the MM yellow line to Brenta and from there it is 7 stops.
