QUARTER DESCRIPTION:
Gambara is a neighbourhood where people feel comfortable. It is safe, clean and offers a good quality of life. The presence of schools and kindergartens makes it crowded with quiet families, while the convenience of transport and services makes it ideal for professionals and elderly people. In recent years, the neighbourhood has seen a flourishing of new businesses, including bars, restaurants and clubs offering a wide range of cuisines and atmospheres. From the traditional trattoria to the trendiest club, you are spoilt for choice for a dinner out or an aperitif with friends in the square itself. There are also gyms and sports centres.
The area is extremely well served. Just a few steps from Piazza Gambara, with the M1 metro line stop for the centre, there are supermarkets, neighbourhood shops, pharmacies, banks and all basic services. There is also no shortage of small craft shops and local markets that contribute to a lively and authentic atmosphere, such as the Thursday market in Via Osoppo, one of the busiest in the city for its excellent fruit and vegetables. A few steps away is a large supermarket with groceries, household goods, plants and flowers, and bistros for good breakfasts.
A ten-minute walk will take you to the elegant De Angeli-Marghera area with many restaurants, high-quality shops, ice-cream parlours, pastry shops, including Middle Eastern ones, and continuing to Piazza Wagner you will find the historic covered market, nice shops, bars and the very pleasant Via Belfiore with many Italian handcrafted shoe shops.
MOVING TO THE AREA:
To get there from Malpensa airport with the Malpensa Express train, you can take the M1 from Cadorna station in the direction of Bisceglie and get off at Gambara, there it is just a few steps into the green Via Palma.
Again with the blue line (M4) and the red line (M1) you arrive at Linate airport in 40 minutes.
From Gambara you always get to Cadorna by underground to take the M2 line to all railway stations.
